Putin orders Audit Chamber to mull axing federal bureaucrats

MOSCOW, Aug 10 (PRIME) -- Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered Director of the Audit Chamber Tatyana Golikova to formulate proposals to optimize the number of federal government bodies on Thursday.

“There is really a bad trend: the number of territorial bodies is falling, it has dropped by 4.5% (since 2012) but the number of the authorities created by federal government bodies to support their activities has grown 25%,” Golikova said.

Putin said, “Think (about this) and formulate your proposals.”
